Protection of Lemurs

Over the past hundred years Madagascar had lost its largest animals to extinction of hunting and habitat convension. Madagasy law is protection of the Lemurs. They are still being hunted. Some tribes believe the indri takes on the souls of their ancestors, therefore they are opposed to killing these lemurs.
